ERIC LINDROS 1992-1993 home Jersey
Size 56
CCM/Maska Air-knit White Home Set issued 2-11-93 Lindros/Classic Auctions LOA 2/2018 |
This home jersey was worn by the “Big E” during his rookie season in 1992-93. The jersey has the black sharpie signatures of Lindros and Jim Evers with an issue date of 2-11-93. This one hails from Eric’s personal collection and was auctioned by Classic years back. On February 11th 1993, the Flyers played the Montreal Canadiens at home in a 0-0 tie. Only once the Flyers played to a scoreless tie on Spectrum ice. It was on October 26th 1969 against St. Louis. On the evening of February 11th 1993 Tommy Soderstrom and Montreal's Andre Racicot changed the history books. Unlike its '69 predecessor, this duel was 65 minutes long. Soderstrom was deservedly the game's star, especially after staving off a Canadiens power play in OT. The jersey features lighter but evident use so it may have been worn for more than just this one game.
The front of this size 56 jersey shows various black markings along the lower white portion of the jersey below the crest and above the hem. The Stanley Cup Anniversary patch is affixed to the upper right chest area and the crest has a washed out white stick mark to the left of the orange circle. The right arm exhibits light black markings, black and red marks to the one sleeve #8, board burns and scrapes to the other #8, a board burn above the sleeve numbers, and 6 light board burns in the cuff/elbow area. The left sleeve has a board burn above the sleeve numbers, a washed out black puck/stick mark through both sleeve numbers, black marks next to the “88” sleeve numbers, a 1.5 inch white stick-mark near the underarm area, and three board burns in the elbow/cuff area. Both sleeves have been shortened and hemmed by the trainer by hand sewing. The rear of the jersey shows even use with some black markings on the lower left and right and some light markings to each rear #8. Further, the collar seam is pulled which could be possible fight/scuffle damage. Inside, “88” is penned on the Maska tag and the size 56 is on the left. There is some minor pilling inside and as mentioned the inner crest is signed by Lindros and Evers with the 2-11-93 date. Courtesy of Eric and Classic Auctions/Feb 2018 with Lindros signed LOA! |

CCM/Maska Ultrafil (1 of only 2 ultrafil sets worn by the Flyers in the 1980's). LOA from Gameworn.net Photomatched |
Worn by Kerr when he returned from injury late in the 87-88 season. He recorded his 16th career hat trick against the Winnipeg Jets on 3/26/88 while wearing this jersey. Also worn for 3 home playoff games in the first round against the Washington Capitals in April 1988. Jersey wear is on the lighter side due to the limited amount of games played by Kerr in 87-88. I would estimate that it was worn in about 8 home games including the playoffs that year. Shows some stick marks, board burns, and pulls in the ultrafil material. Light inner pilling under arms and on the elbows. Nice board paint transfer on the right arm #2 and unevenly stitched numbers which can be photo matched to Kerr's action photo in the 1988-89 yearbook a year later. The fight strap has been reinforced with nylon/twill material to prevent stretching. Kerr is stitched onto an ultrafil nameplate as well. Acquired in November 2010 from a collector.

The right arm has a couple of black marks, blown stitching on the orange piping, and eight board burns in the cuff/elbow area. The left arm shows black markings, brownish staining mostly in the elbow area (blood?), four board burns, and an un-repaired hole in the cuff/elbow area. The damage continues onto the rear of the jersey with some light marks, a nice 3” black mark/slash, staining to the rear numbers and very cool full name “Rich Sutter” sewn in white twill onto a matching mesh nameplate. “Eagle” is embroidered on the lower right hem. Inside, a size 48 size tag and Eagle Sportswear tag can be found in the neck area designating this as either a first or second set jersey. The original fight strap is sewn on through the rear number 1 as was customary at the time. Further, there is pilling in the inner elbow area on both arms. A great, well worn jersey showing the effort put out on the road trips by Sutter brother Rich!

RON SUTTER 1984-1985 ROAD JERSEY
Size 48
Eagle Mesh Road Set 3 IceViolence 2023 |
This Eagle mesh road jersey was worn by Ron Sutter during the latter half of the 84-85 season. I’m in the proces of searchingly 84-85 SCF playoff and finals images and video to see if this was worn during those games. The single small size tag could point to that but research needs to be done. The jersey features good use with the front showing some staining below the crest at the bottom front and the crest has a few scrapes and nice white stick mark. The right sleeve exhibits black markings, some use to the sleeve numbers, and five board burns to the elbow/cuff area. The left arm has some black markings, staining to the arm #1, and six board burns in the cuff/elbow area. The rear shows even use a glorious 5” burn to the mesh fabric on the lower right hem. The full name “Ron Sutter” nameplate in matching orange mesh is epic. “Eagle” is embroidered on the lower right hem. Inside, the original fight strap is sewn through the bottom of the rear #1 as was customary at the time. The neck has a small single size tag with 48 in red circled indicating that this may have been a 3rd set jersey possible worn in the playoffs/finals. A very cool and unique full name jersey worn during the road battles in 1985!

Ron Sutter 1986-1987 Stanley Cup playoffs / Finals home Jersey w/ "A"
Size 50
CCM-Air-knit Playoffs/Stanley Cup Finals Set |
This jersey was worn by Ron Sutter during the latter part of the 86-87 season and into the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Additionally, there is a high probability that this jersey was worn during the 1987 Stanley Cup Finals vs. Edmonton and also into the next pre and regular season while the team was waiting for the new set of jerseys to come in. The jersey has really nice wear with the front showing black markings, fabric pulls, slashes through the crest, and a massive 6" loop style repair to the midsection. The front further features the Alternate Captains "A" which appears to have been taken on and off during the playoffs via vacant stitching holes around the border. In its current state, it is stitched down probably because he was an Alternate Captain during the start of the 87-88 season. The left arm has approximately 10 board burns and two un-repaired holes in the elbow area, and some black markings. The right arm shows about 12 board burns and one un-repaired hole in the elbow area, blue and black markings to the sleeve numbers, and black markings. The rear of this jersey features even wear with fabric pulls, two loop style repairs on the lower right side, board burns on the right bottom hem next to the embroidered CCM letters, and black markings. The inside of the jersey features pulling, a washed out maska neck tag, and customized twill reinforced fight strap. A true gem from the Keenan days!

DAVE POULIN 1984-1985 stanley cup playoffs / finals home JERSEY W / "C"
Size 50
Eagle Mesh White Set 3 Iceviolence LOA |
This 3rd set white mesh gamer made by Eagle Sportswear was worn by Dave Poulin in the Stanley Cup Playoffs and Finals during the 1984-85 season. It shows light but evident use with the front exhibiting white stick marks on the crest which have been photo-matched, a couple of light stains, five black markings, and a few scrapes to the crest. The white on orange Captain’s “C” is proudly stitched to the upper left chest. The right arm is shortened/hemmed to Poulin’s specifications and remains fairly clean with two board burns, a pull to the mesh, and red dasher paint burnt into the cuff area. The left sleeve is shortened/hemmed as well with a couple of black markings and a board burn to the left of the arm number 2. There is another black mark near the elbow area and a small board burn and un-repaired 1/4” slice in the cuff area. The rear of the jersey shows even wear having a black mark under the right arm, some sweat staining to the bottom of the rear number 2, and nice, light 5” slice in the twill at the bottom of the rear number 0. There is a size 50 tag in the neck and the original fight strap remains and is sewn through the bottom of the rear number 2.
The jersey has been photo-matched to the Getty photo of Dave lifting the Prince of Whales trophy to the white mark in the corner of the third wing down on the Flyers crest. Further, it has been video-matched to the large, washed out white slash mark on the bottom wing that was present during Game 1 of the 85’ Stanley Cup Finals in Philly. Even though the video quality is bad, the same slash mark has a washed out look in game 2 as it remains today. Overall, this is a great mesh Eagle example worn by legendary Flyers captain Dave Poulin during a great, deep 1984-85 playoff run! |

The inside of the jersey has the CCM neck tag still in place with a faded ink “50” hardly visible from washings. The original fight strap is sewn into the rear of the jersey. The jersey was signed on the rear #8 as were all of the jerseys after this "Shirt off of their backs" promotional game and remains unwashed since that night. The wear is decent on this one-game wonder. Eagle Mesh Road Set 2 |
This 84-85 Flyers road gamer was worn by Derrick Smith in his rookie year with the Flyers. He would go on to score 17 goals and add 22 assists for a total of 39 points in the regular season. My research indicates that he scored 3 goals and 4 assists while wearing this jersey. The Flyers advanced all the way to the SCF that year but came up short vs. Wayne Gretzky and the Oilers. The jersey consists of various stick marks on the lower front and a slash mark through the crest. The collar has various pulls in the fabric. The left sleeve has a large stick mark under the #2. The right sleeve has some stains on the elbow (possibly blood) and some stick/puck marks. The rear of the jersey shows some markings as well. The crest and sleeve numbers show considerable puckering. The interior of the jersey has pilling in the elbow areas on each sleeve. The fight strap has salting and a lot of pilling as well.

derrick smith 1986-1987 STANLEY CUP PLAYOFFS / FINALS road JERSEY
Measure to a 52
CCM Air-knit Playoffs/Finals Road Set GWA.net LOA |
This road jersey was worn by gritty left winger Derrick Smith during the 87 Stanley Cup playoffs and during the Finals vs Edmonton. It features nice use with the front exhibiting fabric pulls, stick marks, a 1” Flyers style loop repair, and a puckered Flyers crest from numerous washings. The left arm has some left over red and blue dasher paint, fabric pulls, slash marks on the #2, and various board burns and un-repaired holes in the elbow/cuff areas. The right arm shows washed out red dasher paint, loose orange piping, and more board burns plus un-repaired holes in the elbow/cuff area. The rear of the jersey shows even use with loose strings, fabric pulls and puckered rear numbers. The neck stitching is stretched out from fight abuse. Inside, the Maska tag has given way to washings and there is some nice pilling on the body and arms from the pads. The original fight strap remains and is reinforced with twill to prevent stretching. This was a common characteristic of these playoff and finals jerseys. Overall, a great orange road gamer worn by the Ontario native who was an integral part of those memorable 80’s Flyers teams!

LINDSAY CARSON 1982-1983 HOME JERSEY
Size 50
HSI Mesh Home Set End Reg/Playoffs |
This rare HSI mesh jersey was worn by Lindsay Carson during the end of the 82-83 season. These jerseys were worn with the Cooperall pants which would be phased out by the 83-84 season. The jersey features lighter wear as would be expected as it was only worn for a handful of games. The front on the jersey exhibits some light staining in various areas, a nice large black stick mark on the lower left side, and a heavily puckered crest that shows a couple of scrapes and that has been repaired from the inside five times on the outer black seams. The left sleeve has puckered arm numbers and three light burns in the cuff area and near the elbow. The right arm shows some red post or dasher paint on the sleeve #1, a black scrape on the arm #8, and about four board burns in the cuff area. The rear shows even wear with a few stains and markings, “HSI” branding in white heat pressed letters on the lower right hem, and “Carson” sewn in black twill on a matching white mesh nameplate in a distinctive font only used on this set of jerseys. The rear neck area appears to have been popped at some point and repaired as a result, the inner neck size tagging is missing. Inside, the original blue racing stripe fight strap has been sewn through the rear number 8 as was customary at the time. There is some light inner pilling under the arms and those five crest repairs can be seen. As stated above, these HSI mesh gamers are a rare find and have a truly unique vibe to them. |

The right arm shows washed out blood or sweat staining near the neck, some light black marks, a nice board burn in the orange piping, and a small burn in the cuff area. The left arm has the same staining next to the neck area, fabric pulls, black marks, and some nice black marks/abrasions to the arm #2 and 1. The story continues on the rear of the jersey with some black markings, marks/slashes on the rear numbers, a blood stain near the neck, and some fabric pulls. Inside, pilling can be found on each elbow and the fight strap shows nice use with frayed ends. In the neck area, a CCM tag is hanging on by a thread and has “54” penned on it. This jersey was last worn by Dan Kordic during the 91-92 pre-season. It may have been worn previously by another player (Jeff Chychrun) in the late 1980’s. It has some familiar customizations done by the team that were found on many enforcer jerseys. Shortened sleeves and a tie down skate lace fight strap have been added while the Velcro strap has been cut out. The jersey features lighter wear with the front having some fabric pulls and a slash mark on the crest as well as some puckering to the crest from washings. The right sleeve exhibits a few light markings, fabric pulls and burn marks in the cuff area, and some loose orange piping. The left sleeve shows a few black marks, a small slice mark on the 6, burn marks, pulls, and pilling in the cuff/elbow area and a washed out stain which could be blood. The rear of the jersey shows nice even wear with black and red marks on the number 6, a black mark on the left shoulder blade area, and a black slash/hook on the left side.
